"I present to you the first NTT DATA EMEAL Non-Financial Report, which presents the results of our economic, social and environmental performance, as part of our dialogue with our stakeholders. Our performance was marked by the effects of COVID19 and, in recent months, also by the war in Ukraine, which has led us to reinforce our commitment to society.

We have completed a year with significant changes in our organisation, such as the integration of the former everis and NTT DATA EMEA into a single business unit, and something as relevant as the unification of the two units under the same brand, NTT DATA.

I would like to express our recognition and gratitude to the company's professionals, whose commitment and professional performance have enabled us to achieve the best results in our history

Environment.

We are working to protect the environment by reducing our activities’ footprint and making progress towards our goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030, supported by the emission reduction targets set by the Group through the Science Based Targets (SBT) initiative.

Carbon Footprint

During FY21 we have calculated our carbon footprint under the ISO 14064 standard. During FY21 we increased our scope of reporting and independent third-party verification from 56 to 86 offices, spread across the territories where the company operates, and also included new categories within the emissions calculation compared to FY20:

Tasks as simple as sending an email, storing files or chatting or video chatting have a negative impact on the environment.

This September, join Sustainable Digital Cleanup, our digital cleanup campaign, and start taking part in the global movement for a more sustainable future.

NTT DATA EMEAL currently stores more than 1.5 million Gigabytes on its servers for business continuity. This translates into 311 tonnes of CO2, approximately 10% of our total carbon footprint, or 890 aeroplane trips from Milan to Tokyo. However, you as an employee can contribute to reducing this footprint.
